IDR 125 Trillion For Indonesian Construction, PUPR: BUJK Must Be Professional

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the Ministry of PUPR Mohammad Zainal Fatah said that the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) supports improving the quality of construction services through the role of the Construction Services Business Entity (BUJK).

"Asociation also plays a role in improving the ethics of business entities and supporting the Central and Regional Governments for Business Entities, as well as being the main actor in supporting development acceleration programs and providing constructive thoughts for the progress of the development of Indonesian construction services," Mohammad Zainal Fatah said in his statement, Antara, Sunday, May 28.

Fatah also said that the accredited association of construction service business entities must refer to Government Regulation No. 14 of 2021 so that it can actively contribute and carry out its role properly.

The role of the construction service business entity association is not only to empower its members by implementing sustainable business development, as well as increasing the competence of business entities, and protecting the interests of members.

In 2023, the Ministry of PUPR will be given a budget of Rp. 125 trillion to carry out infrastructure development in Indonesia, both in the fields of water resources, marga-building, creating works, and housing. In this value, Rp. 21 trillion was also allocated to support the development of the State Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago.

In addition to this priority task, the Ministry of PUPR through Presidential Instruction No.3 of 2023 concerning the acceleration of increasing regional road connectivity has the mandate to implement regional road development packages with a budget requirement of IDR 32.79 trillion.

Work in the form of handling roads and bridges with a total of about 996 packages of activities, consisting of construction work packages and construction consulting service packages.

According to Fatah, massive infrastructure development must also be balanced with the number of qualified experts to fill the needs of construction services. Both in the fields of planning, study, design, supervision, and construction management. Thus, to support the realization of infrastructure development, it is necessary to involve competent and highly competitive service providers.

"Servicts to always act professionally, work fast, work hard, and work productively. Checking problems in the field and actively finding solutions, and oriented towards tangible results. Carrying out tasks not only guarantees completion, but guarantees that infrastructure also functions properly," said Fatah.

Fatah hopes that the quality of construction services will continue to improve so that they can work together with the Ministry of PUPR to carry out sustainable infrastructure development.

"For that, we need to work hard and work together, ensure the quality of construction and aesthetic work, and orderly implementation of construction safety," he said.
