The Prosecutor's Office has named the former Treasurer of the Council Secretariat (Setwan) of the East Lombok Regency DPRD, West Nusa Tenggara, with the initials Z as a suspect in the alleged tax budget corruption case. Head of the Intelligence Section of the East Lombok Kejari, Lalu Mohamad Rasyidi, said that the determination of Z as a suspect in the alleged corruption case of the East Lombok DPRD Setwan tax in the 2019 to 2020 fiscal year was the result of the investigation case title. "So, from the results of the examination of witnesses, two pieces of evidence were obtained so that from today's case title, investigators determined Z as Treasurer of the East Lombok Regency DPRD Setwan as a suspect," he said by telephone, Antara, Friday, May 26. Rasyidi said that Z as a suspect was indicated to have abused his authority by not depositing taxes on the cuts in the recess funds of board members into the regional treasury. "The tax that should have been deposited into the regional treasury is allegedly used by the suspect for personal gain," he said. The nominal tax that was not deposited into the regional treasury, he said, amounted to Rp343 million. The emergence of the hundreds of millions of rupiah is now a state loss figure. "So, the loss figure appears based on the calculation of the East Lombok Inspectorate," he said. Furthermore, Rasyidi emphasized that investigators named Z as a suspect by applying criminal charges Article 2 paragraph (1) and/or Article 3 and/or Article 8 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001.
