JAKARTA - Sukabumi Police Chief AKBP Maruly Pardede gave an award to a mother whose action had gone viral on social media for escorting an ambulance in the middle of the road.

The heroic action carried out by Mawar by escorting an ambulance that was stuck in traffic during the Eid holiday season and then on Sunday, April 30 at around 17.00 WIB from Simpang Tiga Loji-Kiaradua-Palangpang to Simpang Tiga Bagbagan, Palabuhanratu District, of course, really helped the ambulance escape the heavy flow of vehicles on the Palabuhanratu tourist route.

In addition to giving gifts in the form of helmets, Mawar also received assistance from the Sukabumi Police Chief.

"We also provide education to Mawar to always wear a helmet when using a motorcycle, even though his actions were heroic, at that time he (Mawar) did not wear a helmet, so he could also endanger himself," he added.

Meanwhile, Mawar admitted that she was surprised by the arrival of a number of personnel from the Sukabumi Police Traffic Unit to her house, because she thought she had made a mistake or committed an act that violated the law.

It turned out that after being explained, the arrival of these Polri personnel was to give awards and gifts to him. Mawar finally felt relieved and of course did not expect that the ambulance escorting action would result in an award from the Sukabumi Police Chief.

"Actually, at that time I was going to the minimarket, but hearing the sound of the ambulance siren and being seen stuck in traffic, spontaneously preceded it to pave the way," he said.
