Road Agency Landslide In West Aceh Decides Transportation Access

A public transportation fell on the Provincial Road section on the route of West Aceh Regency-Pidie Regency in the Beiben/ANTARA intersection area

Access to transportation between West Aceh Regency and Pidie Regency until Monday afternoon was completely cut off, after the provincial roads in the Simpang Beiben area, Sungai Mas District, West Aceh Regency, were hit by landslides. As a result of the natural disaster, a public transportation trying to cross the road was also mired, so it had to be withdrawn by residents and assisted by police personnel. Apart from Simpang Beiben, Sungai Mas District, West Aceh Regency, landslides also caused provincial roads in the Lancong area, local sub-districts to crack. The road agency's rift, he said, also threatened the breaking of transportation access for thousands of people in the area. "The crack condition is very severe, we are worried that if it continues to be hit by heavy rain, the crack in the road will get worse," he said. In addition, he said, flooding also caused the 30-meter road section in the Tungkop area, Sungai Mas District, to also collapse into a ravine, causing the remaining road to be about 1.5 meters.

The sub-district head of Zulkifli said that his party had reported the natural disaster to related parties in the West Aceh Regency Government, in the hope that the issue could be handled immediately by the Aceh Government.
