GOGOR REGENCY - Bogor Resort Police have imposed an odd-even rule on the Puncak Bogor Line, West Java for four days from April 28 yesterday until May 1, 2023.

Today Monday morning, May 1, the Bogor Resort Police turned 110 vehicles around during its implementation.

"We are doing this to limit the number of tourists to Puncak so as not to cause traffic jams along the route," said Bogor Police Chief AKBP Iman Imanuddin while blocking vehicles at Simpang Gadog, Ciawi, Bogor.

A total of 110 vehicles with even number plates that were about to go to Cianjur consisted of 83 four-wheeled vehicles and 27 two-wheeled vehicles.

The current traffic conditions on the Puncak Line are relatively smoother in the lane leading to Jakarta and Cianjur, compared to Sunday (30/4).

"Earlier, as we observed in the field, our officers have been scattered along the route and the results of monitoring in the field, at several points where there was a current buildup that is currently sloping, two normal currents can still be passed," explained Iman.

He explained that if the volume of the vehicle looks congested, then his party will also implement one-way or one-way traffic engineering.

According to Iman, a one way system is implemented if the density of vehicles occurs starting from the Gunung Mas Rest Area to the Cianjur border, or starting from the Cisarua Market to the Taman Safari Intersection.

"If we really need draining (vehicles) we will apply one way, if there is no need for draining the current, we will continue to maintain it for two directions," he explained.

Previously, KBO Satlantas Bogor Police Iptu Ardian Novianto said that the Police continued the implementation of traffic engineering on the Puncak Line, Bogor Regency, West Java, until the long holiday or long week end commemoration of Labor Day on Monday, May 1, 2023.

He explained that the traffic engineering was applied to break down the density of vehicle volume as happened during the Lebaran 1444 Hijri holiday.

The police recorded as many as 430,066 vehicles entering the Puncak area, Bogor Regency, West Java, during the Eid holiday momentum from Tuesday (18/4) to Monday (24/4).

"A total of 430,066 vehicles consist of 166,995 two-wheeled vehicles, 259,244 four-wheeled vehicles, and 3,827 buses," said Ardian, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 1.

The volume of vehicles on the Puncak Line increased dramatically after Eid al-Fitr day. Most of them occurred on Monday (24/4) which reached 83,313 vehicles. While the minimum is before Lebaran, on Wednesday (19/4), 48,593 vehicles to be exact.
