Heavy Rain Caused Landslides And Damaged Seven Houses In Central Tapanuli

TAPTENG - Heavy rains continue to pour in Central Tapanuli (Tapteng) Regency, North Sumatra from Friday morning, April 28 until evening.

As a result, seven houses in two different locations in Central Tapanuli Regency were damaged by landslides. Five houses that were hit by landslide material were in the Cemara Asri housing complex, Jalan Abdul Rajab Simatupang, Sibuluan Nauli Village, Pandan District, Central Tapanuli Regency and two other houses were in the Matauli Pandan School housing complex, on Jalan Raja Junjungan Lubis, Sibuluan Indah Village, Pandan District.

Monitoring at the location, Saturday, the condition of seven houses that were hit by landslides, five of which suffered damage to the kitchen to the ground. In this incident there were no casualties, but a number of items in the kitchen could not be saved.

Meanwhile, two housing units were hit by landslides, one of which was badly damaged, due to being hit by trees and mud from the hills around the house.

Meanwhile, in different locations, a number of points experienced flooding due to overflowing river water, including Sibulun Indah Housing, Sarudik, Aek Tolang, Pasir field and the road to Sibolga-Tapteng.

Deputy Head of the Central Tapanuli Police, Kompol Kamaluddin Nababan who was accompanied by the Head of the Public Relations Subdivision of the Tapteng Police, AKP H Gurning and a number of BPBD of the Tapteng Regency Government, appealed to the surrounding community to remain vigilant if there were further landslides.

"From our review, we immediately went down to the location where there were no casualties. However, the loss is estimated at hundreds of millions of rupiah," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, April 29.
