BANDAR LAMPUNG - The Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has demanded that the defendants in the 2022 Lampung University (Unila) new student admissions case, namely former Vice Chancellor I Heryandi and Senate Chair M Basri each spend five years in prison.

The charges were read out by the KPK prosecutor Widya Hari Sutanto in a trial for reading the charges before the Panel of Judges led by Chief Judge Efiyanto, at the Tanjungkarang District Court (PN), Lampung, Thursday, April 27.

"In this case, the public prosecutor has asked the panel of judges to order the defendant Heryandi and M Basri to be sentenced to five years each because they have been legally and convincingly proven to have committed several criminal acts together," the KPK prosecutor said.

"Sentenced a sentence against Defendant 1 Heryandi and Defendant M Basri in the form of imprisonment for five years each and a fine of IDR 200 million, subsidiary of 2 months in prison," he said.

The KPK prosecutor also demanded that defendant Heryandi be subject to an additional penalty of IDR 300 million and defendant M Basri of IDR 150 million or be replaced with a prison term of three years

"On the condition that if the defendant does not pay within one month after the court's decision has permanent legal force, his property can be confiscated by the prosecutor and auctioned off to cover the replacement money. If it is not sufficient, the prison sentence for three years is calculated with the evidence confiscated by the state," he added.
