Police Have Not Recognized The Cause Of The Bird Cage Warehouse Fire In Matraman Because Of The OTK Fire

JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Matraman Police is still investigating the house fire incident which was used as a warehouse for bird cages in the Palmeriam area, Matraman District, East Jakarta. Although it is suspected that the house was burned and kerosene was found at the scene, the police were reluctant to confirm the exact cause of the fire.

"We can't say for sure that we will burn it because it is still in the investigation stage. If it is confirmed that it was deliberately burned, it will need investigation and deepening," said Matraman Police Chief Kompol Mobri Panjaitan when confirmed by VOI, Wednesday, April 26.

After checking at the location, the Matraman Police confiscated evidence of fuel around the crime scene (TKP). The evidence was also confiscated for further investigation.

"The evidence that was confiscated was a black bag containing a plastic fuel bag (oil fuel). Currently, the case is still under investigation," he said.

Previously, a house that was used as a warehouse for a bird pen on Jalan Pembina Raya, RT 12/06, Palmeriam Village, Matraman District, East Jakarta, was allegedly burned by an unknown person on Wednesday, April 26.

Luckily, the fire that raged did not spread and could be extinguished using an APAR type extinguishing device.

"We have deployed 15 personnel with 1 fire engine unit to the location. However, when the members arrived at the location, the fire had been extinguished by residents using APAR. The firefighters only carried out cooling and taking data," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman when confirmed, Wednesday, April 26.

"The owner of the house suspects that someone had a fad (deliberately) burned the branches for the birds on the terrace of the house. So they spread into the house (because the owner smelled kerosene in the burning place)," he said.

From the scene of the incident, it was found that kerosene was fueled in a container. It is suspected that someone else poured kerosene on the terrace of the house.
