17 Salemba Prison Prisoners Finally Breathe Free Air During Eid

JAKARTA - A total of 17 people out of a total of 3,270 correctional inmates (WBP) or inmates of the Class 1 Jakarta Central Jakarta Detention Center Salemba received free remission on Eid al-Fitr 2023, Saturday, April 22.

Meanwhile, the other 13 inmates also received special remissions II, but they are still undergoing a subsidiary (substitute sentence). Meanwhile, 525 inmates from the Salemba Detention Center also received 1 special remission.

"So the total WBP of the Salemba Detention Center received a special remission for Eid al-Fitr as many as 555 WBP people. They have met the requirements after being proposed," said Head of the Central Jakarta Class 1 Detention Center, Fauzi Harahap, to reporters, Saturday, April 22.

Based on the information collected, it was recorded that 3,270 inmates were in the Salemba Rutan. Of these, 1,720 people are still prisoners and 1,550 people have become prisoners.

"There are 1,347 prisoners who are Muslim here. The percentage of prisoners who received remission was 41 percent," he said.

Fauzi hopes that the remission given to 555 WBP people will be a stimulus for others to behave well.

"Hopefully they will play an active role in the coaching program organized by the Central Jakarta Class 1 Detention Center or Salemba Detention Center," he said.
