Ridwan Kamil Congratulates Ganjar Pranowo, Invites West Java Residents To Unite During The Election

West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil congratulated the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo who had been appointed as a candidate for president (candidate) promoted by the PDI-P. "Yes, congratulations to Pak Ganjar to become (bakal) the presidential candidate of the PDI-P. He prayed smoothly and fulfilled what he aspired to," said Ridwan Kamil after the Eid prayer at the Al Jabbar Mosque, Bandung City, West Java, Saturday, April 22. He said whoever would later become the leader of Indonesia was already a destiny. In addition, according to him, this fate also needed to be picked up in a good way. He also invited the citizens of West Java not to clash and fight if later there were elected leaders. "Whoever is the leader, there is already a line of hand, yes. Our decision is as in previous years," he added. Ridwan also ensured that West Java residents would be in a conducive condition in welcoming the political year. "We pray that the elected one is the best for this nation," he said. Previously, Friday, April 21, in the 140th Party DPP Meeting Extended by the Three Pillars, at the Palace of Batu Tulis, Bogor, West Java, PDI-P Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri announced Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate for the 2024 election. "At 13.45, by saying Bisamillahirrohmanrohim,ifying Brother Ganjar Pranowo, now the Governor of Central Java, as cadre and party officers to be upgraded his assignment as (bakal) presidential candidate of the Republic of Indonesia from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle, "said Megawati. Registration for presidential and vice presidential candidates is scheduled for October 19 to November 25, 2023. Based on Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections (UU Elections), pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the election which meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the number of seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of the nationally valid votes in the previous election of DPR members. Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament, so that pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in the DPR RI. It is also possible that candidate pairs are promoted by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the 2019 election with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
