Police Still Investigating Shooting At Mulima Wamena Papua And A Resident Died

JAYAPURA - The Jayawijaya Police Criminal Investigation Unit is still investigating the shooting case on Jalan Transwamena 'Kurulu, Kampung Mulima, Libarek District, Jayawijaya Regency, Papua Mountains.

The shooting took place on Monday (10/4) at around 16.00 WIT, killing SW (22).

Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Pol. Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo in Jayapura, Tuesday, said that members of the Kurulu Police received a report through HT related to the shooting in Libarek District which resulted in the death of the victim SW (22).

After receiving the report, the members went straight to the location.

From the testimony of the first witness TS (32), said that the passengers of the red Strada car with the aim of Tolikara Regency shot residents in Libarek Village.

The second witness TS (43) said that TS's brother (first witness) and his friend were behind the car of the shooter.

Kombes Pol. Benny revealed that there were allegations that the perpetrators of the shooting were Police personnel.

"Investigators are still investigating the alleged perpetrators of the National Police," said Benny.

He said that the team was still conducting investigations in the field by collecting evidence and asking for statements from witnesses at the location. The victim's body is currently at Wamena Hospital for post-mortem purposes.

The Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police asked the public not to be easily provoked and restrained so that the security and security situation in Jayawijaya Regency remained conducive. This is considering the case in the handling of the police.

"The National Police will take firm action if it is true that there are indications of members committing violations of the law, then process them in accordance with applicable regulations," said Kombes Pol. Benny.
