JAKARTA - SKD (26) a young widow with MF, her boyfriend, was caught stealing a cellphone belonging to her own neighbor on Jalan Perintis Tegal Alur, Kalideres, West Jakarta.

Kalideres Police Chief AKP Syafri Wasdar said the two perpetrators were desperate to steal their own neighbor's cellphone because they were trapped in the need to buy their child's milk.

It was later discovered that the perpetrator had committed the theft twice because of economic urgency. The perpetrator, who already has 3 children, is no longer able to buy the child's milk.

AKP Syafri explained that this case was revealed thanks to the responsiveness of the Kalideres Police RW who responded to receiving reports from their inmates.

"After receiving information from the victim, it was found from the characteristics of the perpetrator who was none other than the victim's neighbor," he said.

The couple were arrested while trying to sell stolen goods to a counter. However, after the two perpetrators were arrested, the police then brought together the two perpetrators and the victim.

The perpetrator admitted that he was forced to steal because he did not have the money to buy his son's milk. So both of them were desperate to steal the cellphone. After hearing the perpetrator's confession, the victim also forgiven the perpetrator's actions.

"With this agreement, we are making Restorative Justice or justice efforts. The two perpetrators and victims made a statement," said AKP Sjafri. The victim has also forgiven the perpetrator's mistake. The case was restored justice due to humanitarian factors.
