Circulation Of 30 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine And 14,000 Ecstasy Pills Across Sumatra Thwarted By Jambi Police

JAMBI - The Directorate of Drug Investigation (Ditresnarkoba) of the Jambi Police thwarted the circulation of 30.1 kilograms of methamphetamine and 14,958 pills of ecstasy.

Director of Drug Investigation (Dirresnarkoba) Jambi Police Kombes Pol Thomas Panji said the narcotics evidence came from Pekanbaru and was planned to be brought to Palembang, South Sumatra.

"We have arrested four couriers, namely YF, CD, ZI, and BN who are residents of Pekanbaru," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 29.

The narcotics evidence and four couriers were secured in the Rantau Badak area, Muara Papalik District, West Tanjung Jabung Regency (Tanjabbar), Jambi Province on Monday.

In addition to securing evidence of narcotics and four suspects, he explained, the team also secured two cars used by the perpetrators. Thomas said that if one gram of crystal methamphetamine can be used for five people, 150,671 people will be saved and one ecstasy pill if used for one person, then 14,958 people will be saved so that the total saved is 165,629 people.

Then, if one gram of crystal methamphetamine costs IDR 1.3 million, the total value of the evidence of methamphetamine weighing approximately 30.1 kilograms worth IDR 39.174 billion, while the evidence for one ecstasy pill if it costs IDR 250 thousand is the total value of evidence for ecstasy pills amounting to 14,958 pills worth IDR 3,739 billion, bringing the total to IDR 42,914 billion.

Thomas said this evidence would be destroyed as a form of Polri's commitment to eradicating narcotics.
