LABUAN BAJO - Criminal Investigation Unit (Sat Reskrim) of the East Manggarai Police, East Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has detained a young man with the initials DP alias D (30) who is a suspect in a criminal case of carrying away and sexual intercourse with a minor victim M (16). "We have detained the suspect in the detention room of the East Manggarai Police," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the East Manggarai Police, Iptu Jeffry Silaban in a statement received in Labuan Bajo, quoted by ANTARA Wednesday, March 29. Detention was carried out after the process of the LP/35/III/2023 Police Report dated March 20, 2023 regarding the occurrence of a criminal act of sexual intercourse of minors under the age. Suspect D was reported to have taken the victim away on Sunday 27 March 2023. D was about to bring the victim to Ende Regency. However, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the East Manggarai Police PPA Unit picked up the perpetrators and victims at Ende on March 21, 2023 and was brought back to Borong. From the existing investigation, D is known to have committed a criminal act of sexual intercourse against children five times since October-December 2022.

For this incident, D is subject to Article 332 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 81 paragraph 3 sub-Article 81 paragraph 1 of the Child Protection Law in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code. "We are conducting further investigations," said Jeffry.
