Public Trust Survey To The Police Increases To 70.8 Percent, DPR Asks The National Police Chief To Continue Directing The Wife Of A Simple Lifestyle Police

JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the House of Representatives Andi Rio Idris Padjalangi appreciated the National Police for increasing public trust. This was conveyed by him in response to the results of the latest survey by Indonesian Political Indicators.

He hopes that the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, can continue to improve and maintain the level of public trust in his institution by continuing to take concrete actions against the community.

"Continue to give the best to the community in terms of humane services and law enforcement. This is a real thing that is in direct contact with the public," he said.

The Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives' Honorary Court (MKD) also encouraged the National Police Chief to continue to provide directions to the ranks and wives of Polri members not to display excessive lifestyles.

"This step is important and is expected to be followed by all ranks of Polri members," he said.

Previously, Sunday, March 26, the latest survey by Indonesian Political Indicators showed that public trust in the National Police continued to increase, even exceeding political parties and the Indonesian House of Representatives, from 66.5 percent in the findings in December 2022, to 70.8 percent.

"In our findings, the public trust of the National Police is now at 70.8 percent, placing Pori above political parties and the DPR," said Executive Director of Indonesian Political Indicators Burhanuddin Muhtadi when presenting the results of a survey entitled "Electoral Dynamics of Presidential Candidates and Vice Presidential Elections of Public Choices in the Two Latest National Surnas" which was monitored from the Indonesian Political Indicator YouTube channel, in Jakarta, Sunday, March 26.

Usually, said Burhanuddin, the National Police is often the object of public criticism. However, recently, the National Police seemed to be increasingly consistent in carrying out their duties without intervention from outside parties.

This is reflected in the handling of several cases carried out by the National Police and the institution as being able to take firm action against perpetrators of crimes indiscriminately.

In the findings of the Indonesian Political Indicators, the handling of the fraudulent KSP Indosurya investment case, including the application of electronic ticketing, has succeeded in increasing public trust in the Police.

This time, the Indonesian Political Indicator poll was conducted in two terms. The survey was conducted in the period February 2023 and March 2023.

The first period was conducted on February 9 to 16, with 1,220 respondents. Second, the poll took place from March 12 to 18 placing 800 respondents.

The sample comes from all provinces that are proportionally distributed. In the first period, the assumption of a simple random sampling method, with respondents having a margin of error of around 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.

Meanwhile, in the second period, there was an error tolerance of around 3.5 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
