Semi-permanent Settlement Fire In Duren Sawit Successfully Extinguished

The fire incident that hit the tent business premises and the fatting of cattle and goats in the East Flood Canal (KBT) area, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta, was successfully localized by firefighters.

"Currently we are trying to block the fire. But we need a long time to extinguish it and cool it. We have blocked God willing," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman, to VOI at the fire site, Sunday, March 26, evening.

From VOI's observation at the fire site, officers are still trying to carry out the cooling process. Apart from officers, local residents also continue to assist officers in the process of extinguishing the fire.

"Until now, we have launched 16 units, around 90 personnel. Cooling is still being carried out since 19.34 WIB," he said.

The flames allegedly came from the tent decoration business.

"Residents also heard previous explosions," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the fire that hit the East Flood Canal (KBT) area, Jalan Malaka Baru, Bojong Rangkong Village, Pondok Kopi Village, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta, turned out to be a place for tent businesses and the fatting of cattle, cattle and goats.

"The burning place is a place for tents and goat farming. A total of 132 goats in the cage were roasted to death. Then 3 trucks, 1 coll car and 1 motorbike were also burned to the ground," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman, Sunday, March 26.
