Fires In Duren Sawit Collapsed Car Workshops, Used Goods, And Livestock Fatting Cages

JAKARTA - Fire incidents hit a number of car workshops, used goods stalls and cattle and goats farms in the East Flood Canal (KBT) area, Pondok Kopi, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta, Sunday night, March 26.

According to residents, the fire broke out at around 18.30 WIB. The growing flames made a number of local residents living in semi-permanent settlements panic.

Several explosion sounds continued from the direction of the fire location.

"Get out, move aside. Those who have no interest are expected to stay away from the location of the fire because there is still a car inside. Beware of an explosion," shouted an elderly man who was still wearing the sarong at the location of the KBT Pondok Kopi fire, East Jakarta, Sunday night, March 26.

The flames continued to spread to the cages for fatting cows and goats. The magnitude of the flames made a number of residents panic and scream hysterically. Residents also saved a number of items that could be saved.

From Alwi's statement, local residents said that two cars were burned down.

"There were several cars that caught fire inside, there were two minibuses and trucks. Then the fire spread to the goat pen," he told VOI at the location.

Meanwhile, firefighters arriving at the scene continued to try to extinguish the fire. A total of 10 fire engines were at the scene.
