Allegedly Circulating Marijuana, Tangerang Jambe Prison Guard Arrested

The Banten Police's Narcotics Directorate arrested a Tangerang Class I Detention Center (Rutan) guard officer, Jambe, Tangerang Regency with the initials IC (25). He was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the circulation of marijuana.

The Director of Drugs and Drugs at the Banten Police, Kombes Suhermanto, confirmed this. He said that the Perehab from IC itself was an intermediary for the sale and purchase of narcotics class I of marijuana for a man with the initials, BI, who is currently a wanted list (DPO).

"IC, who acts as an intermediary for the sale and purchase of narcotics class I of marijuana for BI (DPO)," said Suhermanto in his statement, Sunday, March 26.

Suhermanto explained that the incident began with the public regarding the circulation of narcotics sent through the JNT expedition package. On the basis of the report, his party conducted an investigation into the house that the package would be sent.

"The opsnal team checked and searched the crime scene of IC's house and found a package with a yellow wrap suspected of containing marijuana on the living room table stored by HN (the alleged perpetrator's wife)," he said.

"HN explained that the package belonged to her husband, namely IC, who during the search was carrying out guard duties at the Class I Detention Center in Tangerang," he continued.

Then, after leaving IC's house, said Suhermanto, officers together with HN went to the Jambe Rutan, Tangerang Regency. The goal is to arrest the alleged perpetrator.

"IC was arrested, then according to the alleged IC statement that the marijuana package was ordered by Mr. BI, namely the inmates at the Class I Detention Center in Tangerang," he said.

The current IC and evidence have been brought to the Banten Police. The goal is for further action.

"He was taken to the Banten Police's Narcotics Directorate office for further processing," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Tangerang Class I Detention Center (Rutan), Akhmad Zaenal Fikri, said that the alleged perpetrators would be dealt with firmly for their actions. This is a form of commitment in eradicating drugs.

"Anyone who is proven to be involved either using or distributing drugs will be given firm action, both administratively and legally," he said.

Fikri said he was ready to cooperate with the police to uncover and support this case. He also admitted that he would evaluate security in his place, so that there would be no more similar incidents.

"Once again, this is proof of our commitment not to play games and to strongly support and carry out all measures to eradicate drugs and also evaluate and further tighten the security and traffic of officers and visitors entering the Tangerang Class I Detention Center area," he concluded.
