MAKI Will Report PPATK In The Aftermath Of A Rp349 Trillion Odd Transaction At The Ministry Of Finance, Mahfud MD: Good!

Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD responded to the plan of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) to report the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police.

According to him, the reporting plan does not need to be questioned. In fact, it is considered a good step.

"Yes, it's okay, it's good," Mahfud told reporters, Saturday, March 25.

Meanwhile, the report follows the 'bocor' of odd transaction data of IDR 349 trillion at the Ministry of Finance. MAKI Coordinator Boyamin Saiman said the reporting plan was actually to defend PPATK. This is because PPATK's actions are not a criminal offense.

"This is a form of MAKI's endeavor in defending PPATK that what has been done is true and if this is said to be untrue by the DPR, I try with reverse logic following the flow of the DPR by reporting PPATK to the police," he said.

On the other hand, it is believed that the Police will stop the investigation. Of course the reason is that no criminal element was found.

For information, this legal step was taken in response to a statement by Commission III of the DPR which said there was a crime from the process submitted by PPATK at the Commission III Meeting of the DPR RI last Tuesday, March 21.
