JAKARTA - For the first time, Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) has revealed the appearance of Turkey's first flying stealth unmanned fighter jet, Anka-3, which is expected to make its inaugural flight this year.

The features of unmanned fighter jets and photos of aircraft were revealed on the sidelines of the implementation of the Military Radar and Border Security (MRBS) Summit for two days held in Ankara.

At the event, TAI General Manager Temel Kotil stated that the Anka-3 Unmanned Fighter Aircraft System is now preparing its inaugural flight.

"We are counting the days leading to Anka 3 flights," he said, launching Daily Sabah March 22.

Anka-3 will have the same avionic architecture and land control station as Anka and Anka-2 unmanned combat arial vehicles (UCAV), which were also developed by TAI.

In addition, Anka-3 has low radar visibility, allowing it to operate quietly undetected. This system also has high-speed deployment capabilities, thus allowing rapid transfer to remote areas.

With a maximum takeoff weight of 6,500 kilograms (14,330.1 pounds) and a practical cargo capacity of 1,200 kg, this drone can carry a wide range of payloads.

Anka-3 can fly up to an altitude of 40,000 feet, with a long flight of up to 10 hours at an altitude of 30,000 feet.

The aircraft can travel at a speed of 250kts/0.42M at an altitude of 30,000 feet, while its maximum speed reaches 425kts/0.7M at the same altitude.

In addition, Anka-3 is also equipped with LoS/BLOS (Satellite Control) capabilities, which allow efficient communication and control.

Anka-3 itself is designed to be able to carry out various kinds of missions, including the Musuh Air Defense Destruction and Destruction mission in the air and land (SEAD / DEAD), IGK (Intection Generals - Monitorings) to carry out electronic warfare missions (EW).

For weaponry, apart from internal weapons stations, Anka-3 is also equipped with external weapons. Among the weapons that can be installed on the outside station are multi-purpose bombs with TEBER-82 and TEBER-81 guide kits.

Weighing about 7 tons, Anka-3 is expected to be equipped with an AI-322 turbofan engine or an equivalent turbofan engine, to ensure high performance and reliability.
