Poland Has Received 60 Million Vaccines, But Half Of Its Citizens Are Reluctant To Get Vaccines

JAKARTA - The Polish government has bought more than 60 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine from six producers. This was expressed directly by the Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki because his country had prepared a National COVID-19 Vaccination Program in early 2021.

Launching CNA, Wednesday, December 9, 60 million doses of vaccine are planned to arrive in Poland at the beginning of next year with a target of vaccinating 30 million people. As we all know one person does get two doses of the vaccine. This amount almost covers the entire vaccine needs of the country which has a population of 38 million people.

To that end, the government has prepared 8 thousand vaccination points throughout the country. This is at the same time the biggest challenge Poland's health service will face.

"We are safe. And now is the time for the big challenge, namely the implementation of the National COVID-19 Vaccination Program," wrote Mateusz Morawiecki in a Facebook post.

The Polish government has announced further details of the vaccination program. Morawiecki's aide, Michal Dowczuk, said that the government is very ready for this program. Later, one vaccination point can be used by 180 thousand people a week.

However, the government faced a new problem. The Polish government seems struggling to convince its citizens to be vaccinated.

This can be seen in the latest survey from CBOS. The research institute said nearly half of Poles are reluctant to be vaccinated.

So far Poland has confirmed 1,067,870 cases of COVID-19 transmission. Among them, there were 20,181 cases died.
