Surabaya Pilkada SSC Survey: Eri-Armudji's Electability 49.9 Percent, Far Superior To MA-Mujiaman 38.1 Percent

SURABAYA - Candidate pair number 1 in the Surabaya Pilkada, Eri Cahyadi-Armudji, is superior in electability with 11.8 percent difference from Machfud Arifin-Mujiaman. These results are illustrated by the Surabaya Survey Center (SSC) survey for the Surabaya Pilkada.

"SSC has conducted research and by electability, Eri Cahyadi-Armudji is superior," said SSC senior researcher Ikhsan Rosidi in his presentation of the research results in Surabaya, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 2.

In detail, the electability of the Eri-Armudji pair was 49.9 percent, while Machfud-Mujiaman's electability was 38.1 percent.

From the results of the electability survey conducted, there were 12 percent of respondents who had not made a choice or undecided voters.

According to Ikhsan, the difference in the difference in numbers is of course very large and is a big challenge for the Machfud-Mujiaman camp to win the Surabaya Pilkada contest.

Meanwhile, regarding the candidate popularity survey, Eri Cahyadi became the most popular figure among others with 92 percent, followed by Machfud Arifin with 86.9 percent, then Armudji with 84.1 percent, and Mujiaman with 74.9 percent.

Likewise, in terms of acceptability in the eyes of respondents, the data were 60 percent for Eri Cahyadi, 53.8 percent for Machfud Arifin, followed by Armudji with 47.5 percent and Mujiaman for 42 percent.

For information, this research was conducted by SSC on 19-24 November 2020 in 31 Districts in Surabaya with 880 respondents.

The research was conducted using a stratified multistage random sampling method with a margin of error of approximately 3.3 percent and a confidence level of 95 percent.

The Surabaya Pilkada which was held on December 9, 2020, was attended by two pairs of Candidates for Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Surabaya, namely Eri Cahyadi-Armudji number 1 and Machfud Arifin-Mujiaman number 2.

Eri-Armudji is promoted by the PDI-P and supported by PSI, as well as six non-parliamentary political parties, namely the Bulan Bintang (PBB) Party, the Hanura Party, the Berkarya Party, the PKPI, and the Garuda Party.

Meanwhile, pair number 2 Machfud-Mujiaman was carried by a coalition of eight political parties, namely PKB, PPP, PAN, Golkar, Gerindra, PKS, Democrat, and NasDem Party and supported by the non-parliamentary party Perindo Party.
