PADANG - The Attorney General's Office of Education and Training (Badiklat) asked prospective prosecutors to instill the values of integrity from the start as a provision in carrying out the prosecutor's profession later.

"Prospective prosecutors must instill the values of integrity from the start, so that later when carrying out the prosecutor profession in the community they can be qualified and trusted," said the Functional Prosecutor of the AGO, Susilo Yustinus in Padang, Tuesday, December 1.

He said this when he became a resource person in the simulation activities of general criminal trials, special crimes, and Datun on Education and Training for the Formation of Prosecutors (PPPJ) Force LXXVII at the West Sumatra Prosecutor's Office.

Susilo Yustinus in this activity was also accompanied by the Assistant Development (Asbin) of the High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) of West Sumatra (West Sumatra) Nadda Lubis and others.

According to him, the prosecutors needed today are not only those who excel in value, but also uphold integrity and professionalism, so that irresponsible individuals should not "deviate" or commit violations so as to tarnish the good name of the prosecutor's office.

In this activity, the resource person seemed to provide training and guidance to prospective new prosecutors who would become prosecutors. The material that the participants participated in was carrying out trial procedures for general crimes, special crimes, as well as civil and state administration (TUN).

Prospective prosecutors prepare indictments, response exceptions, examination of witnesses, examination of the accused, criminal charges, stages of defense (pledoi), and others related to trial proceedings.

The trial simulation was opened on Monday (30/11) to Saturday (5/12) and was held simultaneously in 10 provinces in Indonesia. For the West Sumatra region, there are 17 prospective prosecutors, but two of them are joining the network (virtual) because they are sick.

In carrying out these activities, the prosecutor's office continues to strictly implement health protocols to break the chain of spreading COVID-19.
