PBNU Ketum Said Aqil Positive COVID-19: Pray

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board KH Said Aqil Siroj tested positive for COVID-19 after undergoing an examination. Said Aqil also asked for prayers from the community for immediate healing.

"At his direction, we are asked to deliver this news with the hope and ask for prayers from the ladies and gentlemen, especially the masayikhs undergoing this healing period," Said Aqil's Personal Secretary, Sofwan Erce, told reporters in Jakarta as reported by Antara, Monday, November 30.

Even though he was tested positive for COVID-19 based on the results of the PCR swab test, Said he said, he was in good condition. The Head of the PBNU, he said, was treated intensively at a hospital in Jakarta.

According to him, on several occasions Said advised the public that COVID-19 was not a disgrace or a bad thing.

"It can happen to anyone from any background. Let's keep his message for NU residents in particular, stick to health protocols, "he said.

Sofwan said that as the person around Said made himself do a swab test and was waiting for the test results.

"And because I have a history of direct contact with him, I myself am waiting for the results of the SWAB PCR." he said.
