The Value Is Rp. 849.3 Billion, Deputy Governor Of NTT Ensures That Seroja Disaster Assistance Is Still Attributable

NTT - Deputy Governor of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Josef Nae Soi ensured that assistance in handling the Seroja Tropical Cyclone disaster would still be distributed according to the target. The beneficiaries who have been recorded will certainly receive assistance.

"The government will still distribute aid for victims of the Seroja disaster. There is money from the central government so that it will still be distributed," he said when confirmed, quoted from Antara, Monday, September 19.

Nae Soi said to respond to issues in the community regarding the continuation of the aid fund for handling the Seroja Tropical Cyclone disaster in NTT that occurred in April 2021.

NTT received financial assistance of Rp. 849.3 billion from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) to repair tens of thousands of houses damaged by the disaster.

Nae Soi said the value of the assistance distributed was in accordance with the criteria for house damage that had been determined in the category of light, moderate, and severe damage.

He admitted that in the process of distributing aid, he also experienced complex problems in the field, such as intentional people to manipulate damaged conditions.

"Reports from the regions stated that there were people whose houses were slightly damaged but made damaged again so they could get more help. For example, there were houses that were open or two zinc, opened again so that they seemed to be heavily damaged. This is a problem in the field," he said.

On the other hand, he said, there is also the possibility that local government officials will not go directly and clearly check the impact of the damage to residents' houses.

However, Nae Soi said the government had pocketed data on beneficiaries based on real conditions in the field so that the aid distributed was right on target. "Religious people who have been registered will still receive assistance whose process continues to move in the field," he said.
