Update On COVID-19 As Of November 25: Continues To Increase, New Cases Reach A Record Of 5,534

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 45,330 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 5,534 new positive cases of COVID-19.

The number of new cases today reached a new record. Previously, the record for new cases occurred on November 13 with an increase of 5,444 cases.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 511,836 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Wednesday, November 25.

Today's cases increased by 4,494, so that a total of 429,807 people recovered. Then, 114 confirmed positive cases died and a total of 16,225 people.

The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 1,273 new cases and a total of 130,461 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Followed by Central Java, which has 1,008 new cases with a total of 50,321 cases. West Java has 704 new cases and a total of 49,706 cases. Then, East Java has 402 new cases and a total of 59,800 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,100 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 768 recovered cases, Central Java with an increase of 362 recovered cases, and East Java with an increase of 281 recovered cases.

Then, there is 1 province that reported no new cases today. The province is Gorontalo.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 5,465,921. In detail, a total of 5,368,196 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 97,725 using a molecular rapid test (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 65,438 people. Currently, 505 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
