Sri Sultan 'Opens The Door' To The KPK To Process The Corruption Case At The Mandala Krida Stadium In Yogyakarta

JAKARTA - The Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X has invited the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to process a case of alleged corruption in the construction work of the Mandala Krida Stadium in Yogyakarta using the 2016-2017 Budget.

"Just get on with it, go ahead," said Sri Sultan at the Kepatihan Complex, Yogyakarta, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, November 24.

The king of the Yogyakarta Palace admits that he does not know anything about the alleged corruption case in his area, except for information from the mass media.

"If the newspaper filed the submission between contractors, if I am not mistaken, it was in court, that was in the newspaper. Yes, maybe from the results, I do not know the progress," he said.

Regarding the officials within the DIY regional government who have been summoned by the KPK to be examined regarding the project, the Sultan also admitted that he had not received any information.

"Who is being examined by the KPK, I also don't know. That's a legal matter," he said.

Separately, the former head of the Yogyakarta Youth and Sports Center (BPO) Edy Wahyudi admitted that he had been questioned by the KPK.

He admitted that he was questioned by the KPK on Monday, November 23 in Jakarta as the official who made the commitment (PPK) for the procurement of the Mandala Krida Stadium renovation project in Yogyakarta.

"Yesterday, I also received an invitation to be asked for information. I explained about my main duties as a commitment maker. I conveyed this in detail because it was related to our assignment from the beginning and at the end," he said.

In accordance with questions from KPK investigators, according to him, some of the things he explained were related to the procurement of goods and services, setting self-estimated prices (HPS), setting specifications, and drafting contracts in accordance with laws.

"Me and the working group (working group), as well as the providers of goods and services have done what they should. Once again as a Yogya person I have built Yogya. Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri in his statement in Jakarta, Tuesday, said that the KPK had summoned nine witnesses in the investigation of the corruption case for the construction of the Mandala Krida Stadium in Yogyakarta using the 2016-2017 Budget.
