Moeldoko Affirms Fake Accounts On Facebook Write His Name Spread Hoax

JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko confirmed that the account on social media that wrote his name and touched on the moral revolution, not his account. The account also spreads hoaxes.

Moeldoko's statement was in response to the circulation of screenshots of a Facebook (FB) account with the name Moeldoko which alluded to the moral revolution.

"The social media account does not belong to me. It is part of spreading fake news," said Moeldoko, as quoted by Antara on Friday, November 20 in a press release from the Presidential Staff Office.

Moeldoko confirmed that the account in question was a hoax, created by an irresponsible person. Moeldoko explained that the Presidential Staff Office and himself have their own official accounts. He said his official account on Facebook was named Dr. Moeldoko and was verified with a blue check mark. Moeldoko's official account on Facebook is followed by more than 162,000 Facebook users.

In addition to the official account on Facebook, Moeldoko also has an official account on a number of social media such as Instagram with the name @dr_moeldoko, which is also verified and followed by more than 121,000 followers. Meanwhile, on twitter, the Indonesian Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko uses an official account with the name @Dr_Moeldoko. Deputy IV of the KSP for Political Information and Communication, Jury Ardiantoro, said that his party would report the fake account of the Presidential Chief of Staff to the Ministry of Communication and Informatics and official Facebook representatives in Indonesia.

"Attempts to act on behalf of the Presidential Chief of Staff with this fake account are very detrimental to us. Because this is part of slander, "said the jury.
