JAKARTA - Three airports from Angkasa Pura I won the 2020 Healthy Airport Award at the 2020 Health and Environment Sector Award held by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia.

This is proof of Angkasa Pura I's commitment to consistently implementing health protocols to prevent the spread of Covid-19. The award announcement will be made on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 virtually.

In this activity, the Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto and Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi also gave remarks. The three Angkasa Pura I airports that won the award are General Anhmad Yani Airport Semarang, Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Airport (SAMS) Sepinggan Balikpapan, and Lombok Praya Airport.

In his remarks, Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto said that this initiation was useful as a form of prevention of COVID-19 by implementing health protocols including in public facilities.

"In accordance with government regulations, this activity can be a momentum to invite all components of the nation's children to live a healthy lifestyle and implement protocols in public places and facilities," said Minister of Health Terawan.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi added that the efforts made were important to be encouraged by various ministries or related institutions.

"Apart from that, the policies integrated in the environmental health protocol need to be optimized so that all parties can implement health protocols consistently," said Budi.

Angkasa Pura I has consistently implemented corporate health protocols related to preventing the spread of COVID-19 in the airport environment. As flight traffic begins to increase, Angkasa Pura I also routinely monitors airport service users to apply health protocols in a disciplined manner.

The success of the implementation of the Angkasa Pura I Health Protocol was marked by the appreciation of the Minister of BUMN Erick Thohir when he visited General Ahmad Yani Airport in Semarang on 16 May. Erick at that time appreciated the performance of General Ahmad Yani Airport Semarang officers who carried out their duties properly in preparing flight operations during the limitation period for people's travel which can be seen from the provision of long waiting chairs, passenger flow arrangements, and flight schedule arrangements to anticipate queues at the airport.
