BANDUNG - Governor of West Java (West Java) M Ridwan Kamil will fulfill the invitation to clarify the Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim), Friday, November 20 tomorrow. Ridwan Kamil was summoned to clarify the alleged violation of the COVID-19 health protocol when there was a mass gathering in Megamendung, Bogor Regency, during the Rizieq Shihab event.

"As law-abiding citizens, we must fulfill this invitation (summons to the Criminal Investigation Police) properly. Tomorrow (Friday, November 20, 2020) we will attend Bareskrim Polri accompanied by the Head of the Legal Bureau," said Ridwan Kamil during a press conference at the Sate building. , Bandung City quoted by Antara, Thursday, November 19.

Ridwan Kamil, who is usually called Kang Emil, said that Bareskrim Polri invited him to provide clarification. Apart from Kang Emil, a number of parties were also asked for the same thing by the Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

"The police asked for clarification from a number of leaders of the area where the incident happened. Although the origin and background of the situation cannot be compared," he said.

Kang Emil emphasized that the invitation from the Police Criminal Investigation Unit was not for examination, but instead asked for information related to activities in Bogor that were suspected of violating health protocols.

"Pak Anies Baswedan has provided clarification and I received a letter yesterday afternoon for questioning. So, the language was not checked, but asked for additional information regarding the event in Bogor," he said.

According to Kang Emil, the West Java government system is different from DKI Jakarta. Technical authority, such as community activities, lies at the regent / mayor level. Meanwhile, provincial and district / city relations are coordinative.

"Outside DKI Jakarta, all technical authority lies with the regent / mayor, so there are thousands of activities every year in West Java that are managed by the regents and mayors. Because the relationship between the regent, mayor and governor is coordinative," he said.
