Next Month Banten Starts Covid-19 Vaccination

JAKARTA - Banten Deputy Governor (Wagub) Andika Hazrumy confirmed that the COVID-19 vaccination process in Banten Province can begin in December or next month.

At present, said Andika, the Banten Provincial Government through the Banten Provincial Health Office is requesting a micro-planning for vaccination to districts / cities through their respective Health Offices.

"In December, God willing, we can vaccinate in Banten for COVID-19," said Andika Hazrumy, after attending the plenary meeting of the Banten DPRD as reported by Antara, Tuesday, November 3.

Andika said, the Banten Provincial Government through the Banten Provincial Health Office would conduct socialization and compile a 'microplanning' with district / city health offices in Banten Province on October 26-27. The microplaning must have been completed and submitted to the Banten Provincial Health Office on 11 November.

Next, said Andika, the recapitulation and validation of district / city microplanning by the Banten Provincial Health Office was carried out on November 12-16. Submission of the microplaning to the Ministry of Health must have been done by 17 November.

According to the Deputy Governor, the distribution of the 1st stage vaccine from the Ministry of Health to the Banten Provincial Health Office can be done in December, and then the Banten Provincial Health Office will be distributed to the Regency / City Health Office.

"Well, the implementation of the vaccination for the first phase will be in December and January (2021)," he said.

Andika said, the principle of vaccination is to provide immunization by health workers in public and private health facilities, and not to interfere with routine immunization services and other health services. Services are carried out at PKM and its service network ranging from government and private hospitals, health centers, auxiliary health centers, mobile health centers, BPM, clinics and other health service facilities.

The Deputy Governor also added that the COVID-19 immunization service post must comply with local government regulations and policies, including by screening the target health status before immunization is carried out.

"Of course, implementing health protocols and optimizing COVID-19 surveillance activities, including tiered reporting," said Andika.
