There Is A Typo In The Job Creation Law, Observer: Take Care Of Small Things, Wrong, Moreover Big Things

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has signed Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation. However, this law is still marked with typos.

Highlighting this, the Executive Director of the Indonesia Political Review (IPR), Ujang Komarudin, assessed that this shows that government governance is not good. Because managing the articles in the Job Creation Law is not quite right.

"This reflects the complicated and bad governance of the government. Small things are wrong, let alone taking care of big things," said Ujang when contacted by VOI, Tuesday, November 3.

According to him, this error is one proof that the Job Creation Law is not well prepared.

"This is if the law is not prepared carefully, it is hastily tapped on the hammer, changed again after being submitted by the Secretary General of the DPR 812 pages to 1,187 pages," he said.

Furthermore, he considered that this kind of mistake would lead to a decrease in the level of public trust. Because the public will judge the state so far as being managed not seriously.

"This is very detrimental. People will think, really, the state is managed playfully," he said.

"Then later the government may argue looking for justifications such as typos," he added.

It is known, the writing error in the text of Law 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation is contained in Article 6 of the Job Creation Law which reads:

Improvement of the investment ecosystem and business activities as referred to in Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a includes:

a. application of risk-based business licensing; b. simplification of the basic requirements for Business Licensing; c. Simplification of sector business licensing; and D. simplification of investment requirements

Article 5 paragraph 1 letter a is not in the Law signed by Jokowi. Because there is no derivative verse in the article which reads as follows:

The scope as referred to in Article 4 covers the legal fields regulated in the relevant laws.
