MAKASSAR - The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) reprimanded 67 regional heads regarding violations of the neutrality of the State Civil Service (ASN) in organizing the 2020 Pilkada Simultaneously. The Makassar City Government was also reprimanded.

Acting Mayor of Makassar Rudy Djamaluddin admitted that he had not seen a warning letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs. His party has requested that the letter be examined.

"Just this morning I asked to check which letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs has never been presented to me," said Rudy at Makassar City Hall, Jalan Ahmad Yani, Monday, November 2.

Rudy emphasized that he would provide sanctions if ASN was found guilty of violating neutrality in the Makassar Pilkada. But this sanction must go through the stages of proving violations.

"We are just waiting, this is violating, poor person. He has a family, has children, must be completely factual. There must be sufficient evidence to take action," he said.

Previously, the Inspector General of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Tumpak Haposan Simanjuntak, said that this warning was included in a letter signed by the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karavian.

"Regional heads who do not follow up on these recommendations will be subject to sanctions, ranging from moral sanctions to disciplinary punishment," said Tumpak in a written statement, Sunday, November 1.

As of 26 October 2020, there are 131 KASN recommendations to 67 local governments that have not been followed up by the regional heads as Civil Service Officers (PPK).

For this, the ASN personnel administration data were blocked, including 10 provincial governments that have not followed up on 16 recommendations, 48 regencies that have not followed up on 104 recommendations, and 9 municipal governments that have not followed up on 11 recommendations.

"PPK that does not implement the KASN recommendations will be subject to sanctions in accordance with statutory provisions," said Tumpak.

In accordance with Government Regulation No.12 of 2017, regional heads are given a maximum of three days to follow up on KASN recommendations after receiving a warning letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
