JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya investigators are currently examining a number of CCTV camera recordings and a number of witnesses who were at the location of Marine Colonel Pangestu Widiatmoko's attack.

The TNI officer was stifled while cycling on Jalan Merdeka Barat, Central Jakarta on Monday, October 26.

"Now the team is gathering witnesses at the TKP and several CCTVs at the scene and after the incident we have done it," said Head of Public Relations at Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Yusri Yunus at Mako Polda Metro Jaya, reported by Antara, Wednesday, October 28.

Yusri further said that there were three witnesses who were questioned by the police regarding the incident.

Then the results of the temporary examination of the recording showed the perpetrator was using two motorbikes.

"We identified that there were allegedly two motorbikes from CCTV, but we are still investigating the two motorbikes because they have the same direction. One watches and one seizes," he added.

Yusri said the police had sent the recordings to the Forensic Laboratory to be examined in more detail.

On a separate occasion, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, asked the public to activate the Mobile Security System (Siskamling) to anticipate the rampant cycling of bicycles in the capital.

Furthermore, Ahmad Riza Patria said that his party would also coordinate with Polda Metro Jaya.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Abdul Aziz, suggested that the regional government could make more preventive policies to anticipate this happening again in the future.

Aziz said that this could be overcome by increasing the number of Close Circuit Television (CCTV), security patrols from the Transportation Service in collaboration with the police and Satpol PP.

It is known that a number of people became victims of robbery while cycling on Jalan Jakarta. One of the victims of the robbery was the artist Anjasmara while cycling on Jl Jenderal Sudirman, South Jakarta.
