JAKARTA - The Tangerang City Government, Banten, no longer uses the Kyriad hotel and the Social Protection House (RPS) in Neglasari as independent isolation places for patients without symptoms after the decline in COVID-19 cases during this October period.

"Hotels Kyriad and RPS are no longer caring for people who are positive for COVID-19 without symptoms," said General Administration Assistant for Tangerang City Government Kiki Wibhawa in a statement quoted by Antara , Saturday.

Kiki said the number of cases of residents who contracted COVID-19 in Tangerang City continues to decline quite significantly every day.

Kiki explained that currently the Tangerang City Government will utilize a number of Puskesmas which have previously been used as independent isolation facilities for COVID-19 patients with no symptoms.

"We are using Puskesmas Panbar, Jurumudi Baru and Puskesmas Gembor. Because the cases have dropped, the existing Puskesmas is deemed sufficient for isolation facilities. Termination of the use of Kyriad hotels and RPS as isolation facilities is planned starting Monday, 19 October 2020," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the Tangerang City Health Office Liza Puspadewi added that data as of October 15, 2020 compiled by the local Health Office showed that there were 1,919 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the city.

"For those who recovered, 1,637 people were treated with 221 people and 61 people died," he said.

Previously, Tangerang Mayor Arief R Wismansyah said that the availability of adequate independent isolation rooms for COVID-19 patients without symptoms could support the acceleration of recovery.

"Hopefully, the presence of independent isolation locations provided by the Tangerang City Government will be one of the solutions to reduce the potential for transmission, especially reducing the number of transmission in the family cluster," said Mayor Arief.

He explained the availability of additional rooms for the isolation of COVID-19 patients, totaling 210 units in several prepared locations, so that the City Government added new rooms by using the Kyriad Hotel.

"The Tangerang City Government continues to be committed to handling the COVID-19 case optimally. Both in terms of facilities, medical personnel or the needs of the people of Tangerang City, as long as the pandemic has not ended," he said.
