JAKARTA - The Federation of Indonesian Musician Unions (FESMI) through an official Instagram account, announced Cholil Mahmud as the new Executive General Chair, replacing Yovie Widianto.

Meanwhile, Yovie was appointed as General Chair of FESMI in November 2023. At the same moment, Cholil served as Director of Research and Development.

"Congratulations on your duty, mas @cholil as PLT General Chair of FESMI," reads the caption for FESMI's Instagram upload, Tuesday, December 17.

'Don't forget to run it with joy, passion in calm, the most important thing is to have an impact and benefit. Because FESMI always supports good steps.'

Yovie and several Indonesian musicians also expressed their hopes to Cholil through the comments column.

For information, Yovie currently serves as the Presidential Special Staff for Creative Economy. He was appointed last October, after Prabowo Subianto officially became President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Meanwhile, during his duties as Director of Research and Development, Cholil was often a speaker in several discussions held by FESMI. He also became a representative in several discussion forums by the Ministry of Culture and the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia.
