Adi Adrian Supports The Active Role Of The Government In Royalty Problems

JAKARTA - Adi Adrian, a member of the KLa Project who is currently the Chairman of the Indonesian Music Wahana Supervisory Agency (WAMI), supports the government's active role in solving royalty problems in the Indonesian music ecosystem.

Adi's statement was made considering that there were several discussions related to music royalties conducted by the government with Indonesian music actors.

Last week, the Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky also invited administrators and members of the All-Indonesian Composters Association (AKSI), such as Ahmad Dhani and Piyu, to discuss royalty issues.

Meanwhile, Adi Adrian saw the good intentions of the government who wanted to intervene to improve the music royalties collection and distribution system.

"I'm very happy, indeed (mixing hands) the country is needed," Adi said when contacted by the media crew recently.

He also appreciated what ACTION DID, which he said had the same goal as WAMI, as one of the Collective Management Institutions (LMK) assigned to collect and distribute music royalties in Indonesia.

The 59-year-old musician also emphasized that WAMI's position is still in accordance with the laws and regulations in force in Indonesia.

"So if the position of WAMI is just follow the rules. What the rules will be like, come on. Now, if the existing rules are through LMKN, we will go through LMKN. Later, if the regulations change, we will follow the regulations," said Adi.

"Even though the most important thing now is legal certainty. So if the law wants to be overhauled, for the sake of the creators, why not," he concluded.
