RINNI Appears Newly Through EP Crescent

RINNI released EP Crescent (Ivan Two Men/VOI)

JAKARTA - After changing the stage name from Rinni Wulandari to RINNI, the extended play (EP) titled Crescent became the first work of the 33-year-old singer through her new image.

RINNI is very clear that it wants to show new things that have never been done in previous albums. Starting from the genre, selection of songs, to EP designs are new things that are trying to be presented.

"With the new genre, I want to use a new name that is simpler," said RINNI about the decision to change the name of the stage.

The purple color that dominates the album design is also a new thing to be presented. This is in line with the change in stage tones and the music genre that is carried on the Crescent EP.

"Because of the new genre, I also want to try colors that have never been tried before," he said.

Through EP Crescent, RINNI comes for the first time with songs whose entire lyrics use English. This is different from the previous album, which often combines songs with Indonesian lyrics and English.

There are four songs in the Crescent EP, namely Lone Wolf, Triumphant, switch, and 10/10. The four songs have the theme of women's empowerment.

Lone Wolf tells the story of a woman who is not afraid to try to chase someone mysterious. With the nuances of the RnB in the 2000s, RINNI collaborated with ENVY to fill the rap.

Furthermore, the switch is a single which was actually released last June. This song has a personal story with RINNI who just gave birth to her second child at that time.

Lastly, 10/10 as the closing song, inspired by one of the famous challenges on TikTok with a similar name.

In addition, the last song was also inspired by another zodiac, tarus. Described that this zodiacal is known for its strong, independent, confident, and faithful instincts. This song tells the story of someone who has a strong stance.

"Actually, in the future there will be no zodiacal songs. Yesterday it didn't happen on purpose. Because it happened to be my zodiacal tarus, and Jevin Leo. So it just fits, that's all," concluded RINNI.
