AC/DC Express Formation For Power Trip Fest: No Phil Rudd

JAKARTA - Classical Brian Johnson (vocals), Cliff Williams (bass), and Phil Rudd (drums) rejoined AC/DC for their 2020 album Power Up.

However, Rudd won't be behind the kit when the band features its first show in seven years on October 7 at the Power Trip festival in Indio, California.

On September 9 yesterday, AC/DC posted an audio exercise on their social media page with the caption: PWR UP for Power Trip! Listen to their training with Cliff Williams, who recently left retirement for the festival and Matt Laug on the drums.

Laug is a veteran drummer who has played with Alanis Morissate, Alice Cooper, and Slash's Snakepit, and other artists. Most notably, he appeared on several songs on the multiplatinum album Morissatte, Jaked Little Pill.

No reason was given for Rudd's absence. The drummer was previously replaced by Chrislade on the AC/DC 'Rock or Bust' tour following his 2014 arrest due to a number of serious legal issues.

Williams himself actually retired at the end of the 'Rock or Bust' tour, while Johnson was replaced by Axl Rose in the middle of the tour due to hearing problems.

According to Consequence.net, AC/DC formations for Power Trip appear to be Johnson, Williams, Laug, main guitarist Angus Young, and rhythm guitaristtarized▁putar Young (who previously replaced the late Malcolm Young).

The three-day Power Trip Festival, which took place on October 6-8, also featured Guns N 'Roses, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Tool, and Judas Priest - replacing Ozzy Osbourne who was withdrawn due to health problems.
