When Anthony Kiedis Didn't Consider Himself A Musician

JAKARTA - Frontman Red Hot Chili Peppers, Anthony Kiedis doesn't think of himself as a musician. How come?

In the latest episode of the RHCP bassist podcast, Flea titled This Little Light, Kiedis voiced her distrust with her role as a musician. While speaking to the Los Angeles Times, Flea revealed that her conversation with Kiedis made them cry.

After being asked if Flea believed her bandmate was a good singer, this was the bassist's answer.

"I think he's a great singer. And he's always learning and getting better. When we started the band, he couldn't sing a single pitch he just shouted. Now he has a melody, and he's not even fixated on that melody. He flows and dreams of it.

Look, I know who the great singer is: Kurt Cobain [Nirvana], Jim Morrison [The Doors], Roger Daltrey [The Who]. But for me, what I care about any musician is someone who sounds like them. And nothing sounds like Anthony Kiedis."
