JAKARTA - Veteran rock unir, Kix will play their last show in September.

In an appearance at the M3 Rock Festival at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland last week, the Baltimore-based band - formed in 1977 - announced its plans to quit.

In a video shared by Mark Strigl from Talking Metal, Kix vocalist Steve Whiteman is seen saying goodbye to the M3 Rock Festival audience.

"I want to make an announcement here. And it might be a bit difficult to get through, but I still want to do it, because we want all of you to know. We have decided that after 45 years of doing this, I think we will call it a career. Not tonight. We will do the show here September 17th," Steve said.

"It's a long, long, and long way to go," he continued. "And my health is declining. Jimmy's health [Chalfant, drummer Kix] is really declining. And we just decided that we're going to finish these dates over the summer. And we're going to end up in Hinckley, Minnesota. And we thought, 'Who wants to end their career in Hickley, Minnesota?' So we exchanged ideas, and we said, 'We want to do a big last rock and roll show in this area,' because you deserve it.

"Don't be offended, Hinckley, but watch it. So September 17 will be our last show, and I'm lucky enough to be here [at Merriweather Post Pavilion], so we hope you will all join us. Have you joined us for our last show? We rely on you."

"So it's sad, but it's time," Steve added. "You know when it's time. It's like an athlete. You know when it's time. And I think it's time. I'm tired. I can't do this anymore."
