Whitesnake And Scorpions Will Perform At JogjaROCKarta 2020

JAKARTA - JogjaROCKarta was held again. This time featuring Whitesnake and Scorpions as headliners. Still taking place at the Kridosono Stadium, Yogyakarta, the annual rock and metal music festival that is the pride of the City of Gudeg will take place on March 1, 2020.

The announcement of the presence of two world hard rock legends Whitesnake and Scorpions was first revealed by Rajawali Indonesia promoters via Instagram @rajawaliindonesia and @jogjarockartafestival on 19 October.

At the end of 2018, the names most often mentioned to be headliners at the 2019 event are Whitesnake and Scorpions. However, their names slowly disappeared as there was no match between the schedule and the organizer.

Now, Whitesnake and Scorpions have both included Indonesia in their world tour itinerary on the whitesnake.com and the-scorpions.com websites. For Whitesnake, crewed by David Coverdale (vocals), Reb Beach (guitar), Joel Hoekstra (guitar), Michael Devin (bass), Tommy Aldridge (drums), and Michele Luppi (keyboards), this was their first concert in Indonesia. Except for Coverdale, in 1975 he performed in Jakarta while he was still joining Deep Purple.

Meanwhile, Scorpions - currently fronted by Klaus Meine (vocals), Rudolf Schenker (guitar), Matthias Jabs (guitar), Pawel Maciwoda (bass), and Mikkey Dee (drums) - will complete their performances in Indonesia four times. Previously, the singer of the song Wind of Change hit the Sabuga Building Bandung in August 2001 and Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta and Garuda Wisnu Kencana, Bali in September 2004.

JogjaROCKarta: International Rock Music Festival, thus the full name of this event, is the fourth year held by Rajawali Indonesia Communication. On its debut in 2017, JogjaROCKarta successfully won the world progressive metal giant, Dream Theater as the headliner with a concert duration of two days.

Since 2018, JogjaROCKarta has only been held for one day. Nevertheless, it still featured the number one headliner, namely thrash metal giant Megadeth who was supported by many top national bands including God Bless and Edane.

Last year, JogjaROCKarta entered its third edition and featured funk rock band Extreme and thrash metal horde Power Trip as the main performers. There are also from within the country, there are rows of high-profile names such as Edane, Jamrud, NTRL feat. Bimo, Indra Lesmana Project (ILP), Down For Life, Trojan, and Tumenggung.
