JAKARTA - PT Kawasaki Motor Indonesia (KMI) is expanding its line of motorcycle models in Indonesia by presenting two electric motorcycle models, including Z e-1 which emphasizes the minimal bodywork design.

Design

Kawasaki Z e-1 features a sporty design similar to a 250 cc motorcycle. With a minimalist bodywork, this motorbike presents a streetfighter style that is typical of Kawasaki Z type.

Battery

This electric motor is equipped with two lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 30 Ah. The driving force is 5 kW or about 6.7 dk, with a total power of 9 kW or about 12 dk. Each battery weighs 11.5 kg, increasing portability. The battery is installed in parallel under the storage box.

Charging the battery takes about 3.7-4 hours for full charging and 1.6-2 hours for charging around 20-85 percent. There are three charging options, namely direct without charging dock (released battery), with charging dock (released battery), and with the battery installed in place (offboard charge).

Features

Z e-1 is equipped with various features, including Eco and Road driving modes. Road mode speed can reach 85 km/hour, while Eco mode reaches 62 km/hour.

This electric motor is powered by a compact brushless electric motor that provides a strong off-the-line acceleration and low-end response. The e-boost feature can increase instant speed, reaching 72 km/hour for Eco mode and 101 km/hour for Road mode.

There is also a Walk Mode feature, allowing motorists to creep very slowly while in the parking area or when withdrawing.

The comfort of the braking system uses front and rear disc brakes that provide a comfortable braking performance. ABS technology adds certainty in braking. The front suspension of telescopic forks and bottom-links of the Trak Union, gas-charged shock with adjustable spring preload, guarantees driving comfort.
