JAKARTA - After a long wait, Malaysia's automotive manufacturer Proton finally introduced the latest Mild-Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) model, Proton X90.
This launch also marks Proton's debut in the new renewable energy vehicle (NEV) market and a commitment to producing environmentally friendly vehicles. And Proton X90 is the third X-series to be assembled at the Tanjung Malim plant along with previous models, Proton X50 and Proton X70.

The SUV will be equipped with internal technology in the form of Electric Motor Synergy (EMS) 48V integrated with six other components of the 48V Belt-Starter Generator (BSG) motor, DCDC converter, 48V lithium-ion battery, Battery Management System, Recuperation Braking System, and hybrid module control system.
The EMS 48V system together with the 1.5 L TGDi engine in X90 can provide a combined power of 187 dk and a torque of 300 Nm. The EMS motor can provide additional power of 12 dk and 45 Nm. The runway is also combined with a dual-clutch transmission of seven accelerations that can offer optimal performance.
The car also has safety features such as Near Collision Warning (RCW) which alerts drivers to potential collisions from behind and Traffic Sign Information (TSI) that detect and display road signs.
