Mistis Jourdy Pranata's Story Filming In A Location Used By Suicide And Pesugihan

JAKARTA - Jourdy Pranata shared the experience of shooting the film Susuk: Kututan Beauty located in Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta.

Even though he has played in several horror films, Jourdy admits that this is the first time shooting in a haunted place. He even felt that his acting was influenced by the stunting of the shooting location.

"There is one thing I experienced in this horror film, the location turns out to be really horror, and it affects the way we play," said Jourdy Pranata when met at Epicentrum, South Jakarta on Friday, August 25.

On the set, according to Jourdy, who plays Arman, has a very mysterious story. It is even said that there is a sacred place that is used to do scenes.

"In the ending, we shoot at the cemetery, it's really sacred, where people are pesugihan. So, it is for me personally to have to allow first. The prayers are already, but yes, they are still greeted by the creatures there," he said.

The shooting process was even stopped because of an incident that felt strange. Jourdy said there was a storm rain for two days that occurred only on their shooting location.

"There are also things that are not natural, it's like suddenly there was a two-day storm, but just there. When we got out of the location, there was no rain," said Jourdy.

"So, how strange is this, the local rain seems to be welcomed by them," he continued.

The storm rain, said Jourdy, drowned several sets that had been prepared for filming.

Therefore, the production team also asked for help from local figures to simplify the shooting process.

"It's proven that we're back there, it turns out that the location is very warm and delicious. So you have to let me go first. That's a very memorable set," he said.

Meanwhile, the film Susuk: Kutukan Beauty tells the story of Laras (Hana Malasan) who wants to quit her job as a prostitute and improve relationships with her sister, Ayu (Ersya Aurelia).

However, something happened that made Laras rejected by death and continued to be trapped in death. Laras's body continued to live, but his body began to rot like a corpse.

With the help of Arman (Jourdy Pranata), Ayu also looked for various ways to cure Laras. They came to several people, ranging from Damar (Whani Dharmawan), a village head who helped Laras and Ayu after their parents died, Ustad Rahmat (MN Qomaruddin), a religious leader who understood the impact of susuk, and asked for help from Prasetyo (Muhammad Khan), a shaman.
