Review Of The Childe Film: Kim Seon Ho And Kang Tae Joo's Shining Debut!

JAKARTA - Kim Seon Ho is announced to be making his big screen debut through the film Sad Tropics which has now changed to The Childe. Not alone, actor Kang Tae Joo also made this film his big screen debut.

The two competed acting under the directorship of Park Hoon Jung, a director known for a number of noir projects such as New World, The Witch Part 1 and 2, and Night in Paradise.

Their involvement in this project is a film that fans have been waiting for. So is that expectations met in The Childe?

The Childe focuses on Marco (Kang Tae Joo), a low-end boxer who lives and fights to support his mother who is seriously ill. Marco as the champion on the field managed to amaze his clients but on the other hand Marco was looking for his father.

One day, Marco was surprised to see a group of people who came to him and conveyed the news that his father was in Korea. Marco was asked to visit his father who was sick at that time and even signed the file.

With pleasure and confusion, Marco followed the request of a group of people. However, their journey to leave was not smooth because Marco was chased by a Nobleman (Kim Seon Ho).

Arriving in South Korea, Marco also felt threatened because the Nobleman often chased him, without Marco knowing his purpose. Marco just found out he was the father's stepson and he met his brother, Director Han (Kim Kang Woo).

Unfortunately Marco again had to take care of himself because Nobleman continued to chase after him. Marco began to find out who Nobleman and at the same time solve the puzzle between his brother and father.

The story of The Childe went smoothly from the start. The audience is allowed to follow the storyline presented by Park Hoon Jung which may make you think, 'Where is this story going?'

The reason is, Marco's big fight continues to be seen. Even the presence of Nobleman can be even more confusing for the audience, at least that's how we feel in the middle of the section.

However, it seems that the revelation comes slowly so it might be better for the audience not to have to find out the details about this film. The dark side still looks like Park Hoon Jung's previous briefing but what's different this time is an interesting side of humor.

Interestingly, this 'dark' story still leaves a side of humor that mostly comes from Nobleman. Yes, for the size of an anonymous hunter, Nobleman doesn't look scary but his actions are unexpected.

On the other hand, there are some parts that don't affect the storyline so that this film feels long. Regardless, The Childe can still be enjoyed until credit ends. Don't forget beautiful cinematography is brought back like other Hoon Jung films.

Regarding acting, Kim Seon Ho and Kang Tae Joo are both shining. Both of them have starred in Korean dramas several times, but this is the first time they have acted on a big screen as well as chose the action thriller genre.

Overall, The Childe offers adventures and self-search with an acceptable thriller and humor.

The Childe film will air on the Indonesian cinema network starting today, Wednesday, June 21.
