Fromis_9 Will Release First Studio Album After 5 Years

JAKARTA - K-pop group fromis_9 will return with a new album. The group's presence was marked by a few teasers featuring the title of their latest album, Unlock My World.

The first teaser features a locked and open phone screen after the pattern forms the number nine which is still not open. When they form a pattern of eight symbols, the screen opens.

In the second teaser, the screen shows a schedule for album release such as teaser release, trailer, highlight, to the release date of the teaser video on June 3.

The album Unlock My World is the latest work fromis+9 since debuting in 2018. This is their first comeback after releasing the mini album from our Memento Box in June 2022.

After completing the promotion, Pledis Entertainment announced Jang Gyu Ri leaving the group and focusing on becoming an actress.

Now fromis_9 consists of Lee Sae-rom, Song Ha-young, Park Ji-won, Roh Ji-sun, Lee Seo-yeon, Lee Chae-young, Lee Na-gyung and Baek Ji-heon.

In March, fans asked the agency for clarity status fromis_9. Those who are not active on social media and cancel their appearance at the festival make fans wonder.

They were originally scheduled to attend a festival on April 21 and 22, 2023 with ENHYPEN, ONEUS, BEO, and VIVIZ, MONSTA X, and Jessi. However, through the uploaded statement, Pledis said there was a reason why they canceled the schedule.

"It becomes difficult for groups to participate because there is an internal schedule adjustment," Pledis Entertainment said in a statement.

"After discussing with the organizers and members, it has been agreed that fromis_9 will not participate in the event on Saturday, April 22. We would like to apologize to We Bridge and fans," they said.

The fans' wait ended after fromis_9 announced a new album this year.
