Congratulations, Film Ahead Of Sunset Entering The Molins Film Festival Competition At Barcelona

JAKARTA - The film Ahead of Maghrib by Helfi Kardit is included in the Molinas Film Festival competition at Barcelona. This year, the festival which is the venue for the horror filmmakers has entered its 41st event. The festival starts 4-14 November.

The film Aheads Maghrib with the international title Before Night Falls for international distribution. "We will compete at the Molins Film Festival at Barcelona and the competition will be broadcast on November 10 at La Peni Theater Molinas De Rei. The film festival starts on November 4-14. I plan to go on November 5 or 6," he said.

Helfi could not hide his happiness when he reported that before sunset it would be broadcast in Molins. "When I got the info in my email I said Molinas was my dream. Because there are many horror masters in the world and now they are parked in Hollywood making films with horror genres, thrillers basically the genre of films, they must have films that appear in Molina. Thank God. Thank you also being able to participate in competitions at festivals that are quite old," he said.

Helfi said that Corin Hardy (The Nun) and Andre Ovredal (Troll Hunter, The Autopsy Of Jane) had participated in this film festival. Several Indonesian horror filmmakers have also tasted the Molinas Film Festival.

"So this is my dream that my film can appear. Let alone competition, just non-competition events may also be happy because they also have non-competition sessions. This is an official selection that to compete in is very exciting," he said.

Helfi mempecahkan pencapaian ini kepada seluruh sineas Indonesia yang telah berbahu-membahu menggerakkan kembali perfilman Indonesia. "Ini tahun berbuat berkahuntung setelah COVID-19, industri film alhamdulillah tahun ini cukup berkuhan dan usaha keras dari orang film, pengusahaan film, produser, film maker, sutradara, penuli para crew benar kerja keras untuk bangun industri pada masa pandemi. Tahun ini Film Indonesia menjadi tuan rumah di negeri sendiri Alhamdulillah film saya Mjel Magrib juga cukup sukses," ujar Helfi ditemui di Tanjung Barat, Jakarta.

The film Ahead of Maghrib became Novia Bachmid's acting debut. This film not only offers a horror story but also a psychological person with mental disorders (ODGJ).

The story of this film tells the story of 3 students (Thalia, Erlan and Ahmad) majoring in psychology who meet a mentally ill patient (Nina) for their thesis research material. Starting from Nina's mental problem which eventually develops into mystical things that are beyond logic.

This film shows mystical things wrapped in culture and trusts that are considered tahaul but still a tradition.

"When I got an email from the program director of the Molina's Film Festival, this film was said to be 'rreat film'. Pray that I can get good appreciation when it is broadcast there," said Helfi.

The same thing was conveyed by Novia Bachmid. "I am happy and proud of course. Moreover, this is my first film. I didn't expect the film Ahead of sunset to enter the competition. Hopefully it can win, so that it can be the pride of Indonesia. This shows the quality of our film is recognized by the world," said Novia Bachmid.
