JAKARTA - Head of the Information Services Section of the National Monument Area Management Unit (UPK) Irfal Guci said that all levels of the DKI Provincial Government object to the implementation of the 212 Reunion at Monas.

"Basically all SKPDs object because they are in an atmosphere of COVID-19 like this. Because, if one activity is allowed, then all those who ask for other licenses will ask to be allowed," said Irfal when contacted, Thursday, November 12.

This view is known from the results of a meeting discussing the application for a permit to use the Monas area for 212 Reunion activities. , which was held, Wednesday, November 11.

But, said Irfal, UPK Monas and Bakesbangpol do not have the authority to issue the licensing decision. They only gave recommendations according to the results of the considerations in the meeting to the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan.

"The final decision is up to the Governor. The recommendation goes to the Governor. It is up to the Governor to allow it or not. If possible, we are ready. If not, even better," said Irfal.

Separately, the Head of Bakesbangpol DKI, Taufan Bakri, said the Wednesday meeting did not specifically discuss the issue of Monas licensing for the 212 Reunion.

"We discussed the actual issue of public order and security challenges in November," said Taufan.

Regarding the news that many SKPD objected if Monas was allowed to carry out mass gathering activities, Taufan said that the rejection was their own right. "It's their right if they object," he said.

However, Taufan said that the Monas area was not yet open to the public during the transitional PSBB period which is valid until 22 November. If after that Anies allows the opening of Monas, the licensing will be thoroughly discussed.

"At this time there has been no announcement of the PSBB again until the 22nd. If on November 22 there is a change in policy allowing Monas to be opened, we will just discuss it. Wait for its development," said Taufan.

The PDI-P faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD asked Governor Anies Baswedan to carefully examine the recommendation of the Monas area as a place for the 212 Reunion.

Head of the PDIP Faction at the DPRD DKI, Gembong Warsono, explained that the request was not without reason, because currently Monas is still closed to the public during the Corona Virus Desease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

"Yes, the provincial government must conduct a thorough study to be able to recommend a permit to use Monas," said Gembong.

The chairman of the 212 Alumni Brotherhood (PA) Slamet Maarif said that his party is still waiting for a decision from the DKI Provincial Government regarding the decision to permit the use of Monas.

"We have sent it to Monas and the DKI Regional Government from 3 months ago. We have the receipt, we are just waiting for the DKI regional government to answer," said Slamet on Wednesday, November 11.
