DKI Jakarta Keeps Banning Residents From Holding Wedding Reception

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government remains in its position to prohibit wedding receptions in the middle of a transitional PSBB. The public is asked to understand the current conditions, namely the spread of COVID-19.

The DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) admits that it has received complaints from the marriage services association. Even Disparekraf has got the reception concept proposed by the association. However, the concept needs to be improved.

"So far there is still something that needs to be given input. For example, people (guests) don't have to take too long. Eat and drink and then go home. The association wants it, but clients don't want to," Head of DKI Disparekraf Cucu Ahmad Kurnia told reporters, Thursday , July 9th.

According to him, this proposal only concerns a reception by a wedding service organization (wedding organizer). Meanwhile, there are no wedding receptions in the village. This is of course a new problem.

"What is on my mind again is marriage in the village which is a problem. Who wants to be responsible. In the building, it can still be controlled from the guests. There are many officers there. In the village who wants to be responsible?" said the grandson.

Therefore, currently Cucu is still conducting a detailed study of the wedding reception. "This is a complex problem. This marriage reception is very vulnerable to the spread of COVID-19. Later we will discuss it first with the COVID-19 Task Force team. They will judge whether this has been implemented or not," he said.
